The Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation developed the Fort Peck Wellness Center in Poplar, MT as a comprehensive health, physical fitness, and community space designed to improve local access to vital services. The facility brings medical, dental, therapy, and wellness programming together under one roof and supports the tribe’s vision of enhanced community health and resiliency. A solar photovoltaic system was included in the project to support energy efficiency and cost savings for this key community asset.
Case Study
OnSite Energy designed and installed a 72.6 kW rooftop solar photovoltaic system at the Fort Peck Wellness Center as part of the building’s energy strategy. The solar array works alongside a suite of energy-efficient building measures to reduce reliance on conventional energy sources and lower operating costs. The Wellness Center project — backed in part by federal energy funding — reflects the Fort Peck Tribes’ commitment to sustainability, economic opportunity, and improved community well-being. The facility’s energy-saving measures are projected to reduce annual utility costs and support the tribe’s long-term goals for energy independence and resilient infrastructure.
