Client Profile

West High School, home to the Golden Bears, is one of the three public high schools in Billings and now the proud owner of a 50kW solar array on campus.

OnSite Energy worked with the Billings Public Schools Director of Facilities to apply for NorthWestern Energy E+ Renewable Program grant funding for this project, which was awarded in 2019. After a slight construction delay as we all learned to safely navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, the array was completed over the summer of 2020 in time for students to show up in the fall and see firsthand how solar photovoltaic energy works. We really love doing projects on schools that can provide on site learning opportunities for the environmental, science and STEM curriculum, as well as reduce the school's operational costs.
